Independence Gold-Silver Mines Inc. was formed in the early 1960’s to explore and develop 15 unpatented mining claims on BLM land approximately 15 miles South of Battle Mountain, Nevada, in the Battle Mountain Mining District. Since then, Battle Mountain Gold, succeeded by Newmont Gold, succeeded by Nevada Gold, a joint venture between Newmont and Barrick Gold Corp, have dug 3 open pits all within a mile of the Independence, and produced in excess of $10 billion in Gold. The Independence is currently being explored by America’s Gold Exploration Inc., pursuant to an Exploration and Option to Purchase, as amended, entered into on June 26, 2017, and its operator and explorationist is Don McDowell.
Since that time, more than 40 drill holes have been added to 120 existing holes, all assayed, and a permit has now been applied for with the BLM and the EPA for a permit to develop an open pit on the Independence claims, together with operations on the more recently acquired Filipini claims. Independence’ rights under the Exploration and Option to Purchase include a reserved 2% NSR.
